Sound recordings on Folklore Research around the Kinki Region, 1940-1943.
These are sound recordings of ritual and ancient folklore songs on anodized aluminum records made by Naomoto Fuji et al., Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Letters, Kyoto Imperial University, with a research grant from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, over a three-year period beginning in 1940. They don't overlap with the contents of the previously published “The Collection of Folklore Musics in Japan” by Kasho Machida (Japanese Folklore Record Distributor, 1940).
